Emily Gast-Schlater

Emily is a 2010 graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law,
where she excelled in the intensive two-year law program. In 2009,
Emily was invited to work on the University of Dayton's Law Review,
editing and reviewing legal journal entries, and soon became part of the
Law Review editorial staff, serving as publications editor.
Before attending the University of Dayton, Emily worked in banking and
mortgage finance. Her experience in these areas led to her
interest in probate and estate planning, real estate, and business
organizations law. She believes that careful planning and
goal-setting is very important in facilitating the best results in the
transfer of businesses and wealth through generations.
Emily believes that community involvement is a key to the prosperity of
any rural area, and as such, she served in AmeriCorps after graduating
with honors from Wright State University in 2003. As an AmeriCorp
participate, Emily assisted in community and economic development
through historic preservation, heritage tourism, and promoting the arts.
She is currently a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Mercer
County Bar Association, and the St. Henry Heritage Club.
Emily is married to Mitch Schlater, and they live in a historic home in
St. Henry, Ohio. She has backpacked extensively through Europe,
and she and Mitch enjoy visiting Florida and the Caribbean.
